Dear Diary,
I collapsed by the roadside yesterday. The whole experience was frightful, I must admit. My parents say I have been overly hungry because I woke up around 12plus and only had a bowl of cereal which lasted until 6plus (the time I blacked out). But I really didn't feel hungry at all.
My parents' anniversary is tomorrow (Monday) and we had planned to celebrate in advance yesterday (Saturday), but before that we decided to pay a visit to my paternal grandmother. During the visit, I was feeling a tad tired, so I laid on the sofa to rest (and eventually fell asleep). I was woken up by my parents and told that we were leaving. I bid farewell to my
ahma and set off to meet my brother at United Square.
From the house to the bus stop, I was feeling perfectly fine. Until a sudden struck of nausea hit me. I quickly sat down and asked my mom for sweets. Apparently it didn’t work and I bee-lined my way to the nearest drain (which was about a meter or so away). After approximately ten steps I lost balance and (was told) swaying to the side. My parents noticed and quickly rushed over to me, where I blacked out.
They had a bad scare. They carried me into the taxi where I laid motionless. I can remember vividly though, the anxiety in my parents voice "Rachel, are you ok? Can you hear me?" Many things flashed through my mind then. The feeling was almost as though I was...dying? I felt so weak and hopeless.
Awhile later, I picked myself up and wanted to throw up. I signalled my mother and she quickly asked the driver for a plastic bag. After which, I had more sweets to get back my glucose level. The driver kept insisting on bringing me to Tan Tock Seng A&E but I ensured my parents I was feeling much better.
At United Square, dad bought me a banana to fill my stomach asap. And soon, we made our way to the restaurant where we had our dinner (: I'm glad the celebration wasn't cancelled. And I'm so thankful for my parents and the taxi driver.
